Our library has recently undergone significant renovations. There have been two new unisex bathrooms installed. Both bathrooms are accessible for people with disabilities and one is equipped with a baby changing station as requested by many patrons. New carpeting was installed throughout the library.

The renovations and moving of all the bookshelves enabled the library to change its layout. The new floor plan is a modification of the floor plan completed by Library Design Associates in 2002 just before the city purchased the building. Patrons will notice a recessed circulation desk and more open space throughout the library.

In addition to the new layout, the library has three comcast high speed internet workstations for patrons and have a new larger patron workstation with two computers to access the public online catalog. The library has also added limited backdoor access to the library. Patrons may ring a bell at the backdoor and library staff will open the door as soon as possible.

The library renovations were funded both by the city and through donations and fundraising efforts by the library. The Superintendent of the Department of Public Works, Scott Poyer oversaw the entire renovation. Nearly all of the work was completed by the city’s Department of Public Works staff and library staff-members.
