Adopt-a-Park Application
Who Can Adopt A Park?
Anyone! Adopt-A-Park aims to unite and support
all people interested in improving Eaton Rapids parks and open spaces.
What Can Be Adopted?
Particular areas within the City that may
be adopted include:
- Sports Fields Playgrounds Trees and Shrubs
- Flower Beds School
Yards River walk
How Can Volunteers Help?
Volunteers care for their adopted area
in the following ways:
- Picking up litter Raking leaves Removing graffiti
- Caring for
trees Sweeping courts & paths Reporting hazards
- Pulling
weeds Suggest Improvements Report to Parks Board
- Planting & caring
for plants
What Are the Volunteers’ Responsibilities?
- Volunteers are
required to maintain their adopted park for a least one year.
Volunteers make up their own schedules.
- Volunteers are required to read, understand,
and abide by the Safety Guidelines.
- Volunteers must abide
by all Park Rules and Ordinances.
- Volunteers must notify Adopt-A-Park
to change specific volunteer duties.
- Volunteers must notify staff
when resigning.
- Volunteers must keep track of the number of hours
spent volunteering on a monthly basis. Hours are due by the
5th day of each month.
Our office documents this information and tabulates total yearly
hours, which helps our program in the following ways:
- Justifies
the need for more tools and supplies when submitting reports
to City Counci
- Accounts for total donated time to the City
for annual statistic reports
- Confirms the growth or decline
in volunteer participation
- Assists students that are required
to perform community service hours
- Helps our office provide
volunteer awards and recognition
